Ein bei der Zooverwaltung eingegangener anonymer Brief kündigt den Tod des kleinen Publikumslieblings an. Der Zoo verschärft die Schutzmaßnahmen.

Knut, el ya famoso bebé de oso polar del zoo de Berlín, recibió ayer una carta anónima amenazante que obligó a extremar las medidas de seguridad en torno al animal.
El zoológico recibió un mensaje por fax escrito a mano y supuestamente enviado por un detractor de los animales en el que se podía leer: "¡Knut está muerto! El jueves a mediodía".
Afortunadamente, el plazo indicado no se cumplió y el mediático Knut sigue sano y salvo.
Está seguro y con buen ánimo. Bueno, no del todo: ¡le empiezan a doler los dientes!

L'ours polaire Knut, phénomène médiatique international, a reçu mercredi une lettre de menace de mort. La menace est prise très au sérieux. La police a donc renforcé les mesures de sécurité dans le zoo.
L'ourson Knut attire chaque jour des centaines de visiteurs au zoo de Berlin. Abandonné par sa mère peu après sa naissance au parc zoologique début décembre de l'an dernier, Knut a depuis été nourri et élevé par des humains.
Son destin hors du commun, mais aussi sa jolie frimousse, lui ont valu une renommée internationale dans les médias et un succès commercial avec ses produits dérivés.

Security guards were called in to protect the prized baby polar bear.
The zoological garden, which has had more than 15,000 visitors daily since the four-month-old bear made his first public appearance last month, said it received the threat by fax on Wednesday. It read: "Knut is dead. Thursday noon."
The news thrust Knut back on to the front pages yesterday, though he has rarely been out of the headlines since his birth in December.
Credit cards and cuddly toys carry his name. A pop song has been written about him and shares in the zoo are at their highest for years. Knut was on the cover of a recent edition of German Vanity Fair and appears regularly in a television show charting his progress.
So strong has the Knut brand become, the zoo has officially registered it as a trademark, introducing a Knut logo, a polar bear hugging the globe under the slogan: "Respect Habitats. Knut."
Earlier this week, Knut's lethargy caused concern. Vets administered antibiotics to tackle his teething problems. The relief was palpable when his first canine tooth broke through.
